Growing together, both as people and as musicians… This is indeed the good fortune of the musicians in the Marseille-based trio Ubaq. We’re talking about bassist Antoine Carletto, guitarist Lucas Schemidt and drummer Antoine Saussol. Accessibility and sharing are the watchwords. Such are Ubaq’s mantras: skilfully crafted melody, down with elitism, a commitment to camaraderie and, above all, warm fulfilment. The band explores the obsessions and introspective journeys – at times anxious, at times enchanted – of a trio largely inspired by rock classics and the British jazz scene.
