ELEKTRE

ooted in Greek folklore, Elektre’s melodies explore urban sounds to create a haunting, energetic and danceable live performance. By infusing it with trap and reggaeton influences, the Elektre project pays homage to the urban origins of rebetiko: born in the poor neighbourhoods of Athens around 1920, rebetiko is the musical style created by Greeks exiled from Anatolia who sang of a bohemian, outcast existence, tinged with drunkenness and a life on the run. By updating it with today’s urban sensibilities, the trio makes this music accessible to a wider French audience.
