André Manoukian 4tet ''La Sultane''
André Manoukian – piano, Mosin Kawa – indian tablas, Guillaume Latil – cello, Gilles Coquard – double bass
Wednesday 22/07 PARC COUTTET

With "La Sultane", André Manoukian explores his Armenian roots through his piano, which has become his personal memory, his cultural heritage, and a language of tenderness.
Accompanied by Mosin Kawa on Indian tablas, Guillaume Latil on cello and Gilles Coquard on double bass, he weaves a dialogue between East and West. Each composition is a sonic arabesque, sketching a boundless horizon.
“Ma Sultane – that’s what my mother used to call my little sister before showering her with kisses. A Turkish word to express the overflowing love of Armenian mothers for their daughters. The boys would whisper to one another: ‘my Pasha’.”
