Surrounded by his accomplices of always, his control of the instrument, his incredible sense of the melody and the delicacy of his compositions amplified by a devastating groove, foresee a beautiful future to this French-Swiss native of Aÿ in Champagne. A freshness and a talent that have not escaped the festivals Nancy Jazz Pulsations and Jazz à Vienne, of which he is the winner of the springboard 2019.
Crowned "Revelation" by Jazz News and Jazz Magazine for the release of his first album "Canto Bello", Leon Phal is at the head of a brilliant quintet whose influences and imagination inspire remarkable improvisations. If he is already flirting in the court of the greats of contemporary jazz, there is no doubt that his breath, his curiosity and his free spirit will lead him far.
The Couttet Park is the focal point of the festival. It hosts the big indoor stage from Wednesday 28 to Saturday 31 July for concerts from 18h to 20h. In this green place in the heart of Chamonix, against the House of Artists, you can also enjoy the village Cosmojazz with bars, small restorations, merchandising shop of the festival.
