Cancellation of the CosmoJazz Festival
The decision was difficult to make but we had to do it quickly. Also, it is with a heavy heart that we must cancel this 2020 edition to see you again in 2021, in better conditions.
Since the start of the Covid-19 crisis, we have fought to find solutions and produce a 2020 edition under the best conditions. We had moved the dates of the festival in the hope of improving the number of cases and health constraints.
Unfortunately, the numbers are no longer going in the right direction. With many outbreaks occurring all over the country, we must act with common sense and wisdom.
The CosmoJazz Festival is indeed a popular event that sometimes attracts more than 5000 people to certain concerts ...
This year, we hoped to be able to control the gauges and access to concerts in order to comply with an effective sanitary protocol and obtain the necessary authorizations to bring together more than 10 people in the public domain.
Our 90 volunteers and our audience come from all over France, the risks of contamination being always present, it is our responsibility not to make our audience, our artists, our volunteers and our production team take any risks. It is also imperative not to favor the development of a second wave of coronavirus and the consequences that would engender.
The decision was difficult to make but we had to do it quickly.
Also, it is with a heavy heart that we must cancel this 2020 edition to see you again in 2021, in better conditions.
We would like to particularly thank all our partners who have shown their support and solidarity since the start of the crisis and in these difficult times: the Community of Communes of Chamonix-Mont-Blanc, the Trient Valley, the Haute-Savoie department , the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, the Crédit Mutuel, the Compagnie du Mont-Blanc, the Sacem, the Orange Foundation, Radio France and FIP, Payot Pertin as well as all the hotels, restaurants and rescuers of Chamonix.
We also think strongly of our technical service provider Generason and all our technicians; to our communications team, our transport partners, and of course to all our volunteers, whom we look forward to meeting in 2021!
Until then, we hope to have some online surprises and other goodies for you this winter.
