PRESENTATION
Chamonix was the birthplace of Cosmojazz festival in summer 2010, with the idea of sharing with the contemplation of all backgrounds an extraordinary human adventure to discover amazing landscapes, dizzying cosmic sounds, in a friendly atmosphere.
For its fifth edition, the festival organizers extend over 9 days, and, like in 2010, will decline each of these five days in three moments.
CONCERTS ALTITUDE
The CONCERTS IN ALTITUDE take place during the day at various sites in altitude selected for their majestic scenery and exceptional panoramas they offer to lovers of contemplation. The concerts will incorporate these locations as naturally as possible and the artists who perform were chosen according to the sites and their music (eerie, mesmerizing, hypnotic and intoxicating, inspired from the north and the south, by the west and the orient) every natural setting inspires the organizers, this concept was fed by the desire to share with visitors a feeling of elevation in the air by having live music in the Alps.
The concerts are free, but access to the site using the ski lifts is payable. Spectators are asked to be aware to count for the travel time needed as advised on the festival website. For each concert in altitude, an alternative solution will be put in place in case of bad weather and will be communicated via the festival website and Facebook.
CONCERTS APERO JAZZ
By early evening, it's time for the APERO JAZZ , from 6PM. The streets and squares in the heart of Chamonix are invaded by extraordinary musicians in residence throughout the festival. The cosmopolitan reputation of the town of Chamonix and its people, welcomes the warmth of a carnival rhythm.
COSMO JAM’
The evening Program starts around 9pm, in the heart of Chamonix, enhancing its cultural and architectural heritage, and reaching out to the mountain spirit that characterizes this city of great outdoors and inside warmth. Several bars of Chamonix welcome musicians of all styles to celebrate music! The bars participating in this adventure will belisted on the website and facebook.
UNEXPECTED INTERVENTIONS
Throughout the festival, by day or by night, in altitude or in the city, visitors may be surprised by UNEXPECTED INTERVENTIONS. Most of the musicians scheduled in Chamonix throughout the festival, guest artists and friends of Andre Manoukian that are not listed in the program, are likely to be playing anytime. The festival proposed that they go and discover the magical places of Chamonix and perform with their instruments, when and where they feel "inspired". The public will be pleasantly surprised: in a cable car cabin; or in a cosmic alpine place; by the melodies of a flute; a voice singing; the breath of a brass or Indian percussion, all in a place when they least expect it.
